In this hourly, remote contractor role, you will serve as the Anthropology Quality Assurance Lead, responsible for ensuring quality, consistency, and trainer performance across anthropology-focused AI training projects. You will review AI-generated anthropology content and trainer/QA work, evaluate output quality against project guidelines, provide precise written feedback, and ensure adherence to expected quality standards. Your role will involve assessing work for anthropological accuracy, cultural context, theory application, and ethical awareness. You will identify recurring quality issues, communicate updates to trainers and QAs, support onboarding, maintain documentation, and engage contributors who are not consistently active. This position requires strong anthropology expertise, excellent English communication skills, and the ability to manage quality workflows across remote teams.

The Role

Your anthropology quality leadership will directly contribute to improving premier AI models by ensuring that training data is accurate, culturally sensitive, and ethically aware. The selection process includes an AI interview, a domain-specific task, and an interview with a recruiter. Note that there is no immediate project for this role; however, qualified candidates will be prioritized for relevant future opportunities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Anthropology or a closely related field.
• Strong command of the English language for communication and feedback.
• 3+ years of experience in anthropology research, teaching, or related workflows.
• Deep understanding of anthropological theory, cultural relativism, and ethnographic methods.
• Ability to evaluate content for cultural sensitivity and methodological rigor.
• Familiarity with ethnography, archaeology, and cultural analysis preferred.
• Experience leading remote teams is strongly preferred.
• Proficiency with tools like Discord, Google Sheets, and project management systems.
• Detail-oriented and organized, capable of maintaining documentation and style guides.
• Experience with AI training or cultural sensitivity review is a strong plus.

Responsibilities

• Monitor quality by spot-checking anthropology items and providing feedback.
• Evaluate AI-generated anthropology content for accuracy and sensitivity.
• Communicate updates and guidelines to trainers and QAs via Discord.
• Respond to questions from trainers/QAs regarding anthropological concepts.
• Manage activation of inactive contributors and track follow-ups.
• Create and maintain project documentation, including style guides and FAQs.
• Conduct onboarding and training sessions for trainers and QAs.
• Ensure consistent application of anthropology review guidelines.
• Identify and propose improvements for quality processes in anthropology AI training projects.
