Ambulance Dispatch Coordinator at Veiligheidsregio Noord-Holland Noord

As an Ambulance Dispatch Coordinator, you will be responsible for coordinating, alerting, and guiding ambulances following emergency calls. You will serve as the vital link between the ambulance dispatch center and the responders on the road. With your listening skills and clear communication, both over the phone and in our systems, you will make a difference when every second counts.

Ons team

You will likely develop 'dispatch ears'; when colleagues receive a call, you hear whether you need to jump in quickly or stand by. This helps us collaborate even better. In the dispatch center, you'll also work with colleagues from the police and fire department. "It’s great that we have a mixed dispatch center; we collaborate so much. You quickly pick up on major incidents, so you help each other out in the meantime. And between calls, we often have nice conversations together."

Wat ga je doen?

Directing and distributing ambulances: You maintain an overview of all vehicles and ensure they are well distributed across the region.
Supporting responders on the road: You assist ambulances during their missions and provide advice and information as needed.
Planning and prioritizing rides: You arrange ambulance transport and determine what takes priority.
Collaborating with colleagues: You work closely with nursing and 112 dispatchers and other dispatch colleagues.

Wie ben jij?

You can maintain your composure in stressful situations while remaining customer and service-oriented. You can work both independently and as part of a team and are digitally proficient. Additionally:

You possess an MBO work and thinking level (medical knowledge, such as first aid or resuscitation training, is a plus).
You are comfortable with irregular shifts (evening, night, and weekend shifts). In fact, you thrive on this variety!
If you currently work as an ambulance driver, we would love to discuss a dual role with you.
Knowledge of the region (geographical knowledge and social map) is a plus.

Wat bieden wij?

As a dispatch coordinator, you will strengthen our team for 24-36 hours per week. The corresponding employment conditions are based on a 36-hour workweek:

Depending on your knowledge and experience, you will earn a minimum of €3,228.00 and a maximum of €4,346.00 gross per month based on 36 hours (salary reference August 1, 2026).
This is supplemented with excellent secondary employment conditions, an end-of-year bonus of 8.33%, vacation pay of 8.33%, and irregularity allowances.
Our extensive training ensures you acquire all the skills and knowledge necessary to succeed as a dispatch coordinator. The training requires a minimum availability of 32 hours per week and lasts approximately 3 to 5 months.
You will start with a six-month contract during the training period. Upon successful completion of the training, you will receive a permanent contract.

The Meldkamer Noord-Holland (MK NH) is one of ten dispatch centers in the Netherlands, located in Haarlem. It is the heart of the safety regions Kennemerland, Noord-Holland Noord, and Zaanstreek-Waterland. As a dispatch coordinator, you will work at the Ambulance Dispatch Center Noord-Holland (MKA), which is part of the Meldkamer Noord-Holland, alongside the fire department and police.
