Join our finance team as an Accountant, where you'll support the county's financial operations through various accounting functions. This role offers a competitive salary and benefits while contributing to the community's financial integrity.
In this role, you will perform essential accounting functions to support the county's financial operations. Your responsibilities will include receiving and processing revenue from county departments, preparing bank deposits, and managing accounts receivable. You will also review and sort payroll checks, assist in the preparation of the annual budget, and reconcile bank accounts as assigned. Additionally, you will reconcile special revenue funds, trust funds, and enterprise funds, assist with annual audits, prepare journal entries, process unclaimed funds, and generate various financial reports.
Qualifications
- A baccalaureate degree in a relevant field.
- Experience in accounting principles, typically gained through an apprenticeship/internship or similar position for 1-2 years.
