The Role

The Account Manager is responsible for maintaining and managing a specific territory of key accounts by providing advanced service and technical support to customers. This position reports to the District Sales Manager and is part of the Phenomenex Benelux team, working remotely to cover customers in the Netherlands and Flanders.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate customer visits to provide technical information, product demonstrations, and technical seminars.
• Attend local vendor shows and company-sponsored trade shows.
• Build account relationships beyond the buying level to ensure involvement of key decision-makers with new and existing customers.
• Ensure that the assigned territory meets sales, gross profit, and unit goals.
• Collaborate with the Sales Manager to develop business plans and sales strategies for key accounts.
• Work with cross-functional teams and act as a resource for colleagues, including coaching, mentoring, and training.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, Biology, or a related science is required.
• Ability to analyze and facilitate dialogue across groups, communicate complex concepts, and negotiate new perspectives.
• Strong organizational skills to strategically plan and allocate resources.
• Advanced knowledge of sales principles and negotiation methods, with the ability to identify business opportunities.
• Good knowledge of Chromatography.
• Strong communication skills in Dutch and English.

Travel and Physical Requirements

• Willingness and ability to travel (up to 60%) based on the needs of the territory.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.

Nice to Have

• Laboratory hands-on experience in chromatography using HPLC.
• Proven track record of success in sales or customer service roles.
• Experience with customer relationship management software.
• Familiarity with the food/environmental market.
