The Role

The Account Manager is responsible for maintaining and managing a specific territory of key accounts by providing advanced service and technical support to customers. This position reports to the District Sales Manager and is part of the Phenomenex Benelux team, working remotely to cover customers in the Netherlands and Flanders.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate customer visits to provide technical information, product demonstrations, and/or technical seminars.
• Attend local vendor shows and company-sponsored trade shows.
• Build account relationships beyond the buying level to ensure the involvement of key decision-makers with new and existing customers.
• Ensure that the assigned territory meets sales, gross profit, and unit goals.
• Work together with the Sales Manager to develop business plans and sales strategies for key accounts.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and act as a resource for colleagues, including coaching, mentoring, and training.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, Biology, or other related Science required.
• Ability to analyze, facilitate dialogue across a group or team, communicate difficult concepts, and negotiate with others to adopt a new or different point of view.
• Ability to strategically plan, organize, and allocate resources to meet the needs of the business.
• Advanced knowledge of sales principles and methods of negotiation, with demonstrated capability to identify business opportunities.
• Good knowledge of Chromatography.
• Strong communication skills in Dutch and English.

Travel Requirements

• Willingness and ability to travel (up to 60%) based on the needs of the territory.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.

Nice to Have

• Laboratory hands-on experience in chromatography using HPLC.
• A proven track record of success in Sales/Customer Service roles.
• Experience in customer relationship management software.
• Experience in the food/environmental market.
