The Role

We are looking for a high-performing, commercially driven Senior Sales Manager to join our CST team. This pivotal role is designed for an experienced sales professional who excels in developing business, securing new opportunities, and managing strategic customer relationships. You will take ownership of a defined market segment or complex territory, focusing on driving sustainable and profitable growth.

Responsibilities

  • Manage sales within a defined market segment or large, complex territory.
  • Engage in direct selling to customers, distributors, and key regional accounts.
  • Drive commercial performance while providing consultative and technical support to customers in collaboration with internal technical teams.
  • Lead complex commercial negotiations, including pricing and contract discussions.
  • Articulate product value, features, and benefits effectively to secure profitable outcomes.
  • Educate customers on new products and enhancements, presenting product features and benefits.
  • Identify, develop, and close new business opportunities aligned with customer needs and Cabot’s strategic priorities.
  • Serve as a commercial partner and trusted advisor, offering consultative support on product applications.
  • Coordinate resources within the region to provide necessary technical services support.
  • Develop marketing and sales strategies for the territory or region.
  • Identify opportunities for increasing sales and pursue new business initiatives.
  • Lead distributor management, customer service excellence, and commercial discipline.
  • Support and mentor less-experienced sales colleagues, sharing commercial guidance and best practices.
  • Ensure disciplined use of Salesforce.com for maintaining forecasts and commercial strategies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree; MBA is a plus.
  • Minimum of 7+ years of sales experience in the chemical industry.
  • Full professional proficiency in English and German (both written and spoken).
