The Role

We are seeking a Structural Engineer to support ATG Engineering at one of our locations in Noordwijk, The Netherlands, Barcelona, Spain, or Frascati, Italy. This position is initially for a fixed term of 9 months, with potential for extension.

The Role

As a Structural Engineer, you will be involved in a variety of tasks including:

  • Conceptual and detailed design of structures and mechanisms.
  • Modeling and analysis of spacecraft hardware using FEM and other methodologies.
  • Generating, reviewing, and negotiating requirements/specifications, development plans, verification plans, test plans, and test procedures.
  • Participating in MAIT campaigns as the responsible structural engineer.
  • Correlating models with test data.
  • Documenting your work and presenting it in reviews.
  • Engaging with customers on a technical level when necessary.
  • Supervising and mentoring junior colleagues.
  • Contributing to team and company development by supporting innovative technical ideas, new processes, and fostering a positive work culture.
  • Assisting in commercial activities including technical proposal preparation and offers.

Requirements

  • A Master’s degree in aerospace or mechanical engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant industrial experience as a structural/mechanical engineer.
  • Practical experience with a NASTRAN-based FEM package in the aerospace sector.
  • Experience with optomechanical systems is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with CAD software, manufacturing drawings, and GD&T, preferably Solidworks or Catia.
  • Experience with FEMAP is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and manage tasks effectively.
  • Candidates must be eligible to work in the EU.
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
