JCW Search is collaborating with a European fintech company specializing in B2B payments to recruit a Head of Credit Risk. This pivotal role presents a unique opportunity to establish and expand the entire credit risk function from the ground up.

The Role

You will be responsible for defining the credit risk strategy for SME customers, designing underwriting frameworks, credit policies, and risk appetites, and collaborating across teams including product, data, and compliance. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to build and lead the credit risk team over time.

Responsibilities

• Define and own the credit risk strategy for SME clients.
• Design underwriting frameworks, credit policies, and establish risk appetite.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with product, data, and compliance teams.
• Build and lead the credit risk team as the function grows.

Requirements

• Extensive experience in credit risk, preferably in SME lending (open to cards/unsecured).
• Background in payments, digital banking, or fast-paced lending environments.
• Current role as Head of Credit Risk with experience in team building.
• Strong understanding of credit methodologies (hands-on model development is not required).
