This position is based on a Cruise Ship. As a Laundry Attendant, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and presentation of linens and guest clothing. Your responsibilities will include collecting, sorting, washing, ironing, and dry cleaning linens, ensuring that all laundry services meet the hotel's standards and are delivered promptly. You will also be responsible for tagging guest items and crew uniforms, sorting laundry for appropriate processing, and preparing items for delivery. Your attention to detail and commitment to quality will be essential in this role.

Responsibilities

• Prepare soiled linen for washing.
• Sort linen by soil level and fabric type.
• Ensure linens are free of debris and sorted by color.
• Inspect guest and crew clothing for tears or damage before washing and report any issues to the Laundry Manager.
• Load washers with properly weighted loads and select the correct washing formula.
• Complete wash cycles and ensure terry items are folded properly and linens are well pressed.
• Assist in transporting clean linen to the linen room and stacking it according to the linen room grid.
• Launder all onboard linens, guest clothing, crew members' clothes, and uniforms.
• Count and verify all items received according to laundry lists and report any discrepancies or damages.
• Report any valuable items found in laundry to the Laundry Manager.
• Iron and dry clean guest laundry and crew uniforms.
• Notify the Laundry Manager of any equipment malfunctions or safety issues.
• Use chemicals properly and ensure the use of Personal Protective Equipment.
• Fold and stack linen on shelves and inspect quality.
• Clean all equipment and assist with other duties as needed.
• Maintain safety and cleanliness in the work area.
• Follow all environmental policies and procedures related to waste collection and chemical use.
• Adhere to all SQM policies.
