As a Dredging Production Engineer, you will design and develop technologically advanced dredging projects, collaborating closely with various disciplines within the company. Your work will encompass a diverse range of projects, from beach nourishment to large-scale reclamation and maintenance dredging works worldwide, all requiring innovative solutions that enhance Van Oord’s competitive edge.

The Role

In this role, you will support our commercial department and project teams during both the tender and execution phases. Upon receiving a new tender, you will analyze the available documents and leverage your expertise in complex work methods and equipment deployment to establish a cost-effective production process. The documents you produce will contribute to proposals for potential clients, and once a project is awarded, you will see your plans come to life.

Responsibilities

• Develop production calculations and work methods for new projects focused on cost efficiency and robust solutions.
• Analyze large volumes of data to determine the most cost-effective equipment and logistical combinations.
• Occasionally visit active projects to advise the project team and vessel crew on optimizing production processes.
• Continuously seek opportunities for process optimization and innovation.
• Participate in technical training courses for crew and executive staff at our simulator training center.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, preferably with additional dredging courses.
• 4 to 7 years of relevant experience.
• Strong team player with the ability to work independently.
• Investigative, creative, and flexible work approach.
• Experience in estimating and preparing dredging works is a plus.
• Excellent command of the English language.
