To maintain high-quality standards alongside our increasing development speed, we are seeking a Senior QA Engineer who will introduce innovative, AI-supported testing and validation methods.

The Role

As a Senior QA Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping quality assurance practices across engineering teams. Your responsibilities will extend beyond merely writing tests; you will enhance how developers validate their work and implement smarter testing workflows. A key aspect of this position involves exploring the potential of Generative AI (GenAI) and Large Language Models (LLMs) to support testing and validation efforts. This includes:

• Generating test scenarios from acceptance criteria.
• Allowing AI to simulate user behavior across the application.
• Automatically determining which tests need to run after code changes.
• Minimizing repetitive manual testing through intelligent automation. You will collaborate closely with developers and engineering leads to translate these concepts into actionable engineering workflows, as this role is embedded within the engineering team.

Responsibilities

• Own and scale end-to-end (E2E) test automation.
• Integrate automated tests as critical release gates in CI/CD.
• Investigate how AI, LLMs, and AI agents can generate and execute test scenarios.
• Enhance how developers validate their work prior to QA.
• Identify which tests should be executed based on code changes.
• Reduce repetitive manual testing through automation.
• Incorporate quality considerations into refinement, design, and release decisions.
• Standardize testing processes during the merging of multiple products into one platform.
• Elevate the overall quality standards across engineering teams.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in QA engineering or quality engineering.
• Strong background in test automation.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines.
• Proven ability to collaborate closely with developers.
• Capability to improve engineering practices beyond test execution.
• Interest in AI applications for testing or software validation.
• Fluent in English.
• Based in Utrecht, with availability to work in the office once a week.
• No relocation or visa sponsorship available.
