About the Company

SOCOTEC Geotechnics is an engineering firm specializing in geo- and environmental engineering. We conduct investigations for buildings, wind turbines, construction pits, infrastructure, flood defenses, and dewatering projects. Our team of over 150 professionals operates from locations in Almelo, Rotterdam, Son, and Woubrugge, utilizing the latest techniques in field research, laboratory testing, and geomonitoring.

The Role

As a Senior Geotechnical Advisor, you will provide geotechnical advice for projects ranging from small constructions to complex urban developments and infrastructure works. You will collaborate with clients, constructors, and your colleagues, ensuring the quality of advice, adherence to schedules, and budget management. Engaging with clients and assisting the sales team in preparing offers will also be part of your responsibilities. You will help build and maintain a network of clients and mentor junior advisors, actively participating in knowledge management within the advisory department and possibly in national geotechnical committees.

Responsibilities

• Deliver geotechnical advice for a variety of projects.
• Communicate with clients and constructors.
• Collaborate with colleagues from various departments, including field services and laboratories.
• Monitor the quality of advice and manage project timelines and budgets.
• Support the sales department in preparing offers.
• Contribute to client network development and maintenance.
• Mentor junior advisors and participate in knowledge management initiatives.

Requirements

• Minimum of 7 years of relevant work experience in geotechnics.
• HBO/WO work and thinking level, preferably in civil engineering or earth sciences.
• Proficiency in geotechnical software such as Deltares D-series and Plaxis.
• Strong planning and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Excellent professional communication skills.
• Eagerness to learn and contribute to team development.
