The Role

We are seeking an OpenSCAD Expert to lead parametric modeling projects in a remote setting. This role offers flexibility with a commitment of 10–40 hours per week and competitive hourly compensation ranging from $20 to $120.

The Role

You will be responsible for managing OpenSCAD projects from initial requirements gathering to the final export of models. Your day-to-day tasks will include developing and structuring parametric scripts, applying constructive solid geometry (CSG) techniques, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure effective communication of design processes.

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end OpenSCAD projects from requirements gathering to final model export.
  • Develop and structure parametric scripts with reusable modules for efficient design workflows.
  • Apply CSG techniques to create complex 3D models and perform 2D-to-3D transformations.
  • Iterate on models using logical, script-driven decision-making and engineering reasoning.
  • Prepare and export files in standard formats to ensure manufacturing compatibility.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate design processes clearly.
  • Document workflows, design rationale, and technical decisions for AI-driven applications.

Requirements

  • Strong experience with OpenSCAD and completion of full design projects.
  • Solid knowledge of CAD fundamentals and Constructive Solid Geometry concepts.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar CAD software tools.
  • Ability to create, optimize, and document reusable parametric scripts and modules.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and structured problem-solving approach.
