The Pool Deck Monitor plays a crucial role in ensuring guest safety at the pool and solarium, executing tasks assigned by the Housekeeping Supervisor. This position involves monitoring the pool area, addressing safety concerns, and assisting with setup and maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the pool deck and solarium, promptly reporting any spills to the pool attendants.
• Identify and report maintenance and safety issues daily.
• Monitor activities around the pool, advising guardians to keep minors close.
• Enforce the no glass policy in pool and jacuzzi areas.
• Assist the pool team with setup and breakdown for events and daily operations.
• Arrive on time, dressed according to uniform standards, including a clean uniform and name tag.
• Report safety hazards and observations to the pool supervisor.
• Ensure compliance with pool rules to prevent accidents.
• Caution swimmers about unsafe practices.
• Prioritize monitoring the pool area during busy times over cleaning tasks.
• Greet guests entering the pool area, adhering to Celebrity Cruises service standards.
• Observe guests to ensure adherence to safety regulations.
• Respond to emergencies by contacting the ship’s emergency number.
• Maintain effective communication with other crew members to ensure guest satisfaction.
• Perform various duties when the pool area is closed, including towel service.
• Clean, maintain, and replenish towels in pool areas.
• Notify management of any maintenance issues and keep cleaning supplies in good order.
• Stay informed about the ship’s events to provide accurate guest information.
• Attend required meetings and training sessions.

Schedule Considerations

• Embarkation Day: Adjust schedule based on needs; assist with luggage debark operations.
• Sea Day: Scheduled according to pool traffic; hours may vary.
• Port Day: Similar to sea days, with at least one day off during a 7-day voyage.
