The Technical - Electricians Department on Allseas’ vessels is dedicated to the maintenance and repair of electrical systems and equipment. This skilled team ensures the reliable operation of power distribution networks, lighting, communication systems, and control panels through regular inspections, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance.

The Role

As an Automation Electrician, you play a crucial role in the safe and efficient operation of our vessels’ electrical systems and equipment. You will work on offshore projects globally, reporting to the Second and First Electrician while collaborating with a talented technical team.

Responsibilities

• Follow standing instructions and assist with the administration of maintenance, troubleshooting, and commissioning of automation systems.
• Understand plant processes and system behavior, implementing software and configuration changes as per work methods.
• Analyze system behavior through trending and data analysis.
• Configure industrial network systems.
• Collect and organize system improvements and bug reports centrally.
• Participate in work safety and adhere to Allseas safety standards as per AIMS.

Depending on your seniority, you may also:

• Manage larger and more complex systems (such as TLS, JLS, tensioners) that require interfacing with other shore-based disciplines.
• Align with the Control, Automation, and Monitoring Unit, applying development procedures and software tools to develop and maintain automation systems, ensuring compliance with regulatory bodies such as Lloyd’s.
• Maintain traceability, version control, and relevant documentation, maximizing regression testing and utilizing available (virtual) test facilities.
• Coach Junior Automation Electricians and organize their work on complex systems.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Electronic and Automation Engineering, Electronics and Electrical Engineering with Automatic Control, Electronic Information Engineering, Process and Control Systems, or equivalent.
• Basic scripting experience in Python, PowerShell, Visual Basic, or similar.
• Fluent in English.
• Professional proficiency in common industrial programming languages (familiarity with Siemens Automation Systems is a plus).
• Basic understanding of network topology and protocols.
• Good understanding of electrical drawings (single line, loop diagrams).
• Sufficient working experience in the Automation field.
• Completed external safety/trade training as per the company’s training matrix.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience on board DP offshore construction vessels / license electro technical rating; STCW III/6.
