The Role

Join our client's team as a Backend Engineer specializing in JSON Schema development, where you will play a crucial role in transforming complex raw documents into structured, actionable data. Utilize your skills in data modeling and schema design to create effective JSON extraction schemas from intricate PDFs, ensuring precise and scalable data solutions.

The Role

You will be responsible for reviewing and analyzing complex PDF documents (25-150 pages) to identify and model key data points, designing comprehensive JSON extraction schemas from scratch, and embedding field-level validation logic. You will also define API contracts, collaborate with stakeholders, and document field definitions to ensure clarity and maintainability.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in data modeling, database design, and schema development, preferably with JSON Schema.
  • Advanced proficiency in designing deeply nested JSON structures.
  • Strong analytical skills to translate unstructured documents into organized information models.
  • Expertise in embedding validation and logical expressions within JSON schemas.
  • Deep understanding of required vs. optional fields and documentation best practices.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience working independently in a remote environment.

Nice to Have

  • Experience designing API contracts and working on integration projects.
  • Background in extracting and structuring data from unstructured documents.
  • Familiarity with data architecture in fast-paced settings.
