The Role

Join our expanding team as a Security Operations Specialist and contribute to Abacus Medicine Group's advancement in security and compliance! You will work closely with key stakeholders, including IT Operations and Legal, to ensure the effective implementation and management of security protocols. Based in Alkmaar, as part of the local IT team at Pluripharm, you will report directly to the Group Head of IT Core Services in Copenhagen, Denmark, while also collaborating across the Abacus Medicine Group and traveling to Denmark a few times a year.

Responsibilities

• Manage and optimize the security stack, proactively identifying issues and driving sustainable improvements.
• Implement and operate security tools across endpoint, cloud, and identity platforms.
• Monitor and respond to security incidents, investigating alerts and acting swiftly to mitigate risks and impacts.
• Collaborate closely with IT Operations to ensure security is seamlessly integrated into platforms, processes, and daily operations.
• Conduct security assessments and audits, translating findings into actionable improvements.
• Maintain security policies, standards, and documentation.
• Provide IT teams with security training, guidance, and hands-on support with tools and best practices.
• Stay informed about emerging threats by tracking new risks, trends, and technologies, applying them as necessary.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
• 3-5 years of proven experience in IT operations, particularly on the Microsoft platform, including Azure.
• Familiarity with security tools and technologies, preferably within the Microsoft Security application stack (Microsoft Sentinel and the Defender product line).
• Microsoft Security Operations Analyst (SC-200) certification is a plus.
• Strong team player with the ability to work independently.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in English, both verbal and written; proficiency in Dutch is a plus.
