We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support ATG Engineering at one of our locations in Noordwijk, The Netherlands, Barcelona, Spain, or Frascati, Italy. This position is initially for a fixed term of 9 months, with the possibility of extension. The successful candidate will be employed by ATG Europe or one of its subsidiaries and will undergo a general security screening by an external provider upon selection.

The Role

You will be responsible for reviewing and analyzing customer requirements and specifications, conceptualizing and detailing designs for various mechanical elements and interfaces, accommodating optical payloads and other systems, and producing manufacturing drawings and associated documentation. You will also present and justify your work during formal and informal reviews and milestones.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in aerospace or mechanical engineering, or a similar field (Bachelor’s degrees may be considered in special cases)
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant industrial experience in mechanical design engineering, preferably in the space sector
• Proficient in CAD software, preferably CATIA V5
• Experience with SAP PLM for configuration tree management
• Familiarity with manufacturing drawings and GD&T
• Knowledge of common mechanical design standards (e.g., EN, ISO)
• Understanding of aerospace standards (e.g., ECSS, NASA)
• Previous experience with optomechanical systems is a strong asset
• Experience with FE analysis and software is a plus
• Familiarity with fibre-reinforced composites is an asset
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Willingness to travel to customer premises as needed
• Eligibility to live and work in the EU
• Fluency in English, both written and spoken
