The Role

About the Company

Nippon Recruitment specializes in global recruitment, focusing on Japanese companies. We are currently seeking a Cargo Supervisor for our client, a multinational logistics services provider, located at Schiphol.

The Role

In this role, you will oversee daily air freight and mail operations. You will receive internal training during your onboarding period.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily operations of air freight and mail.
  • Plan outgoing and incoming flights.
  • Prepare work orders and instructions for loading, breakdown, and distribution for GHCC.
  • Coordinate incoming and outgoing flights managed by GHCC.
  • Arrange trucking logistics.
  • Control ULD for outgoing and incoming flights.
  • Update the internal system for export and import freight handling.
  • Manage coordination and information flow to other airport destinations.
  • Collaborate with sales and space control to optimize cargo space.
  • Address irregularities in cargo handling, procedures, and administration.
  • Perform other departmental and administrative tasks.

Requirements

  • Fluent in English and Dutch (both verbal and written).
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Valid Driving License (B).
  • Preferably 3+ years of experience in the airline industry, either with an airline or a cargo handling company.
  • Preferably 3+ years of experience in a managerial or supervisory role.
  • Willingness to work shifts, including weekends (one week of night shifts each month).
  • Availability for 40 hours per week.
  • Must undergo screening to obtain VGB (verklaring geen bezwaar).
  • Knowledge of safety handling and aircraft operations.
  • Strong communication skills.
