About QuantWare

QuantWare is building the world’s most powerful quantum processors, and is today the highest-volume supplier of quantum processing units (QPUs) worldwide, with customers in more than 20 countries. Its unique VIO™ 3D scaling architecture is the only technology that unlocks MegaQubit-scale, ultra-high-speed quantum processors, delivering exponentially more performance per Watt per dollar invested. VIO™ paves the way for the hyper-scale quantum computers that will solve humanity's greatest challenges. The company was founded in 2021 by quantum computing experts Matt Rijlaarsdam and Alessandro Bruno as a spin-out from QuTech, a globally-leading quantum computing research institute, part of TU Delft in the Netherlands. The company has won multiple awards, including the Deloitte Technology Fast 50 Rising Star award in 2024. For more information, visit www.quantware.com and follow us on LinkedIn.

The Role

QuantWare is at the forefront of developing the world's most advanced quantum processors to tackle significant global challenges. Our innovative VIO™ technology represents a breakthrough in QPU architecture, enabling the creation of MegaQubit quantum processors. We are seeking a System Integration Engineer to lead the technical integration of VIO into our clients' systems, serving as the primary technical liaison among customers, internal engineering teams, and external suppliers. This role is vital for the successful design, integration, and large-scale deployment of complex quantum systems.

Core Responsibilities

  • Serve as the main technical link between customers, internal VIO engineering teams, and external suppliers, converting complex customer requirements into clear interface specifications.
  • Manage the entire VIO integration lifecycle: oversee the process from planning to execution, facilitating the physical integration of customer qubit chiplets into VIO modules and ensuring smooth deployment into customer systems.
  • Design system models for large-scale VIO-powered quantum computing systems to guide customer integrations, collaborating with ecosystem partners to source compatible third-party components.
  • Identify and address integration challenges early in the lifecycle, coordinating cross-functional solutions and continuously improving our integration frameworks to support multiple customer deployments simultaneously.

Your Profile

  • Technical background: Strong expertise in RF/microwave engineering within a semiconductor context, with experience in cryogenic environments or advanced semiconductor packaging as a significant advantage.
  • Systems Engineering: Proven experience in systems engineering, particularly in defining technical interfaces and translating complex hardware specifications into actionable internal requirements. Ability to conceptualize and design large-scale, intricate hardware systems.
  • Interpersonal skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a track record of leading technical collaborations with specialized external engineering teams, partners, and internal stakeholders.

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary: A monthly salary complemented by an 8% annual holiday bonus paid each May.
  • Comprehensive pension plan: A future-proof pension that includes coverage for partners and dependents, with QuantWare covering 63% of the premium.
  • Flexible work environment: Focus on outcomes with a hybrid work setup and an open vacation policy.
  • Relocation assistance: Support for candidates moving to the Netherlands, including visa help, temporary housing, and guidance on expat tax benefits.
  • Personal development: A dedicated budget for learning and development tailored to individual goals and performance.
  • Well-being support: Initiatives to enhance physical and mental wellness.
  • Team connection: Opportunities for team celebrations and events to foster camaraderie.
  • Financial clarity: Access to tools and expert guidance for optimizing total compensation through our partnership with Equip.

We are committed to building a diverse and inclusive team and encourage all qualified candidates, particularly women in the quantum industry, to apply, even if they do not meet every requirement. As part of our hiring process, candidates may need to complete pre-employment screening.
