As a Captain at River - Nautic, you will ensure the safe navigation of our vessels while maintaining the highest standards of regulatory compliance. Your expertise will create unforgettable experiences for our guests, ensuring their comfort and safety.

Responsibilities

• Comply with all statutory regulations.
• Manage high/low water conditions, damage, and technical issues, keeping guests informed.
• Ensure adherence to regulations, timetables, and lock times.
• Oversee the compliance of nautical crew working hours.
• Conduct scheduled ship inspections, including mooring lines.
• Represent Viking and engage with guests during social events.
• Participate in regular meetings and training sessions.

• Motivate and train your crew.
• Lead and inspire the team.
• Make key decisions with authority.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of experience as a Captain or several years as a First Officer.
• Proven ability to sail independently in all conditions.
• Independent and flexible mentality.
• Decisive and assertive with confidence in decision-making.
• Strong team leadership skills.
• Ambitious and initiative-driven.
• Warm engagement with guests.
• Proficiency in English (mandatory).
• Additional languages are a strong asset: Dutch, French, German, Slovakian, Hungarian.

Essential Qualifications

• General Navigation License.
• VHF Radio License.
• Safety Expert Certification (Sachkunde).

Required Licenses

• Danube patent from km 190 to km 2,322 or Rhine patent from km 333 to km 857 or French unlimited length license.
