As a Critical Environment Technician (CET) within Microsoft’s Cloud Operations & Innovation (CO+I) team, you will be responsible for maintaining the critical infrastructure essential for our Datacenters. This role involves coordinating with suppliers, ensuring a safe work environment, understanding critical equipment operations, performing maintenance tasks, responding to onsite incidents, and utilizing telemetry to monitor equipment performance.

The Role

You will play a vital role in delivering core infrastructure and foundational technologies for services such as Bing, Office 365, Xbox, OneDrive, and Microsoft Azure. Responsibilities

• Serve as an operations specialist in a major area of CE operations (e.g., electrical, mechanical).
• Inspect and supervise critical environment equipment for unsafe conditions and escalate issues as necessary.
• Utilize the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) to track equipment assets and complete maintenance requests.
• Lead onsite incident response teams for abnormal conditions impacting operations.
• Develop or follow emergency operating procedures (EOPs), methods of procedure (MOPs), and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Perform various maintenance types (planned, predictive, corrective) with minimal oversight.
• Troubleshoot equipment, systems, and components independently within your trained discipline.
• Provide consultation to colleagues in troubleshooting systems and problems.
• Ensure compliance with safety and security requirements.

Requirements

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent, plus experience in mission-critical services or environments such as data centers, refineries, or hospitals.
• Ability to pass Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire and every two years thereafter.

Nice to Have

• Associate's Degree or technical trade certification, along with mission-critical services experience.
