Our client is seeking a Technical Building Inspector specializing in Insurance Claims to assist on-site inspectors by converting inspection findings into high-quality, insurance-ready reports. This role requires a technical mindset to interpret photos, videos, and site notes into precise assessments, ultimately enhancing claim outcomes and expediting decisions in the Australian insurance building sector.

About the Company

Our client delivers expert, evidence-based inspection reports throughout Australia, focusing on roof inspections, site assessments, leak detection, and insurance scopes of work. They are currently establishing a technical desktop team to bolster their field operations with clear and accurate reporting.

The Role

You will work Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with a one-hour unpaid/paid break, totaling 40 hours per week.

Responsibilities

• Review site inspection data, including photos, videos, and inspector notes to interpret findings.
• Prepare and refine technical roof reports, site inspection reports, and leak investigation summaries using structured templates.
• Assist in determining the cause of damage based on site evidence.
• Develop detailed technical scopes of works (initial stages do not require pricing).
• Edit and QA reports to ensure professional clarity, logical structure, and adherence to company standards.
• Correctly label and structure photo evidence to ensure reports are client-ready.
• Assist with finalizing and uploading completed reports to client systems within a 24-hour turnaround.

Requirements

• Proven experience in building, construction, carpentry, roofing, estimating, or site supervision.
• Ability to interpret site photos and inspection findings, translating them into written technical scopes or reports.
• Strong understanding of various roofing systems.
• Excellent written English skills with a keen attention to detail.
• Capability to work independently and follow structured systems in a fully remote environment.

Nice to Have

• Strong understanding of residential construction methods and Australian Standards (highly regarded).
• Prior experience in the insurance building industry.
• Background in estimating or supervisory roles.
