Chemgas is a renowned, ambitious, and innovative company in the field of gas transport, operating both at sea and on inland waterways. Our fleet currently consists of seven coasters, four semi-ref coasters, and four inland coasters, covering areas from the Mediterranean to Northwest Europe. We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated 2nd Officers for our inland coasters and coasters due to fleet expansion.

The Role

Your passion for sailing and maneuvering will be fully utilized at Chemgas. You will share responsibility for safe navigation and all related tasks. With a close-knit crew, you will quickly get to know your colleagues and learn all aspects of sailing. As a 2nd Officer, you will support the Chief Officer and Captain in various tasks, including assisting with mooring and unmooring the vessel, as well as independently keeping watch in busy waterways. A significant degree of independence is expected from you.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of verifiable experience as a 2nd Officer or higher.
• Proficient in Dutch and English.
• Some technical knowledge of ships, cargo handling, and products.
• Valid Chief Mate <3000GT or Officer in Charge of a Navigation Watch certification.
• Seafarer's book.
• Maritime health check.
• STCW A-VI/1 Basic Safety Certificate.
• STCW A-VI/2-1 Proficiency in Survival Craft and Rescue Boats (other than fast rescue boats).
• STCW A-VI/3 Advanced Firefighting Certificate.
• STCW A-VI/4-1 Medical First Aid.
• STCW A-II/2 Radar Navigator.
• STCW A-VI/6-1 Designated Security Duties.
• STCW ECDIS Generic.

Nice to Have

• STCW V/1.2.2 COP Advanced Training for Gas Tankers.
• STCW ECDIS Type Specific Transas.
• Inland navigation papers (e.g., service book, ADN basic, Rhine patent, etc.).

If you do not possess a gas endorsement, separate arrangements will be made upon your employment.
