Join our team as a 2nd Engineer, responsible for the maintenance and optimization of technical installations on offshore vessels like Nexus, Calypso, and Aeolus. Enjoy a dynamic international work environment with a strong focus on safety and teamwork.

As a 2nd Engineer, you will oversee the condition and maintenance of technical installations aboard our offshore installation vessels. Working in a 12-hour rotation, you will report directly to the Chief Engineer to ensure the optimal performance of onboard systems.

Your Impact

In this role, you will prepare, plan, and execute specific maintenance projects, which includes:

Collaborating closely with the Chief Engineer to maintain, optimize, and improve the engine room and technical systems.
Performing regular maintenance and repairs on technical installations to ensure optimal functionality.
Instructing, organizing, supervising, and motivating assigned crew members.
Fostering a positive working atmosphere and supporting the development of the crew.
Maintaining ship administration according to Van Oord standards.
Acting as a Day Engineer for specific maintenance projects.

About You

You possess a maritime background and demonstrate independence, stress resilience, and flexibility. Proficiency in the English language is essential, along with the necessary documentation to work within the EU.

Additionally:

You hold a qualification as MarOff or Marine Engineer at MBO or HBO level.
You have at least three years of experience as a 2nd Engineer on vessels with DP (Dynamic Positioning) or heavy lift and installation operations.
You possess specific knowledge and experience with offshore installation vessels.
You hold a DP Maintenance Certificate and the required STCW documents.
