As a 1st Line IT Support Technician, you will be the first point of contact for end-user devices at a multinational defense site in Brunssum, Netherlands. Your role is crucial in maintaining a functional organization by directly supporting users and managing their equipment.

The Role:

You will be responsible for providing direct end-user support, including issuing and collecting equipment, and resolving device-related incidents. Your daily tasks will involve configuring hardware and software environments, producing integration test specifications, running tests, and maintaining operational workstation baselines across multiple networks. Additionally, you will ensure the successful deployment of security updates and contribute to hardware platform design decisions.

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct end-user support and customer contact, managing equipment issuance and returns.
• Configure hardware and software environments, installing or removing components as instructed.
• Produce integration test specifications, execute tests, and report outcomes.
• Conduct standard tests and assist in fault investigations.
• Maintain operational workstation baselines across various networks.
• Ensure successful deployment of security updates, anti-malware, and data-loss prevention endpoints.
• Install and document remote application provisioning, including Windows Remote App.
• Collaborate with the centralized service desk on incident, problem, and change management.

Requirements:

• Recent experience (within the last three years) in first-line support for modern, networked end-user devices.
• Higher vocational training in a relevant discipline with two years of relevant experience, or a secondary qualification with four years of experience.
• At least two years of experience supporting hardware, software, networks, and computers in a large organization.
• Hands-on experience with client provisioning, application deployment, and bare-metal installations using MDT and SCCM.
• Practical troubleshooting skills for client OS and software provisioning issues.
• In-depth knowledge of Microsoft operating systems, particularly Windows 10 and 11.
• Experience implementing and administering large Active Directory environments.
• Strong communication skills and proficient English.
• ITIL Foundation certification is required.
