As a Procurement Manager, you will oversee the global procurement of raw materials, components, and subcontracted fabrication for engineering projects. This role involves managing the procurement process from identifying strategic needs to sourcing and closing contracts. You will establish and maintain a global supplier network, create technical inquiries (RFQ), evaluate bids, negotiate terms, and manage purchase orders and contracts, including invoicing and closeout.

The Role

In this position, you will collaborate with stakeholders on procurement activities, aiming to maximize value creation by leveraging competitive advantages and implementing best-in-class global sourcing solutions.

Responsibilities

• Identify organizational needs and fulfill procurement requirements while maximizing competitive advantages.
• Determine global sourcing capabilities, including finding and maintaining relationships with suppliers worldwide.
• Control all subcontractor manufacturing activities from RFQ to contract closeout, ensuring cost reduction and strong supplier relationships.
• Work closely with Project Management to maintain milestone dates and address procurement issues.
• Provide input during the project sales process regarding costs and best fabrication/transport options.
• Maintain positive communication with customers and team members to foster trust and efficient problem resolution.
• Optimize the supplier base by consolidating similarly purchased goods across the company.
• Drive vendor performance ratings and follow-up actions in collaboration with engineering, quality control, project management, and sales.
• Oversee the end-to-end procurement process for all goods and services.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field, with 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Proven track record in project procurement.
• Basic understanding of manufacturing technologies, particularly fabrication for steel structures/components.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent planning, project management, and negotiation skills.
• Experience in the Engineer-to-Order or commercial industrial manufacturing sectors.
• Team player with a proactive approach to project completion.
