The Role

Waldorf Astoria Amsterdam is seeking a visionary Executive Chef to spearhead its culinary operations and redefine its dining experience. In this pivotal role, you will ensure exceptional quality, creativity, and consistency across all venues while leading a talented kitchen brigade. Your focus will be on driving innovation through seasonal menus and delivering unforgettable guest experiences aligned with the Waldorf Astoria True Service philosophy.

The Role

As Executive Chef, you will oversee daily kitchen operations and play a crucial role in developing talent, elevating standards, and positioning the hotel as a leader in Amsterdam’s luxury dining scene.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, inspire, and develop a kitchen team across all venues.
  • Oversee daily culinary operations, ensuring the highest standards in quality, presentation, and service.
  • Drive the creation of new menus and seasonal offerings.
  • Ensure efficient kitchen management, including staffing, scheduling, and cost control.
  • Maintain full compliance with food safety, hygiene, and health regulations.
  • Monitor performance, product quality, and operational flow, driving continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate closely with the Director of Food & Drink on strategy, budgeting, and concept development.
  • Oversee banqueting and special events, aligning offerings with guest expectations and budgets.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as an Executive Chef or senior culinary leader in a luxury or 5-star environment.
  • A strong culinary vision with a passion for innovation and high-end gastronomy.
  • An inspiring leader with the ability to develop and motivate large teams.
  • Commercially aware, with experience in cost control and budgeting.
  • Detail-oriented, with a focus on quality, consistency, and guest experience.
  • Strong communication skills and fluency in English.
