We are seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to architect, develop, and enhance our cloud infrastructure and developer platform. This pivotal role will influence how our engineering teams deliver software with increased speed, safety, and reliability. You will take on a hands-on leadership position, guiding technical strategy, mentoring fellow engineers, and building the essential systems that support our products.

The Role

You will be responsible for designing and implementing scalable, secure, and cost-efficient infrastructure on AWS and Azure, while also maintaining Infrastructure as Code with Terraform. Your role will include:

Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable, secure, and cost-effective infrastructure across AWS and Azure.
• Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform (modules, state management, drift detection).
• Architect and enhance our internal developer platform (IDP) utilizing Backstage.
• Design and manage Kubernetes clusters, service meshes, and container orchestration at scale.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines and GitOps workflows using Argo CD for automated, reliable deployments.
• Define and enforce security policies using Kyverno across Kubernetes environments.
• Contribute to multi-cloud infrastructure strategies and Crossplane adoption.
• Design and build APIs and platform services using Go or Python.
• Architect observability solutions (logging, monitoring, alerting, tracing).
• Design resilient, scalable microservices architectures.
• Lead infrastructure automation initiatives and tooling development.
• Drive cloud cost optimization strategies.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior and intermediate engineers.
• Lead architectural discussions and design reviews.
• Contribute to engineering best practices and standards.
• Participate in on-call rotations and lead incident response efforts.
• Share knowledge through documentation and internal tech talks.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in platform engineering, DevOps, or infrastructure roles.
• Deep expertise with Terraform for infrastructure as code.
• Proficiency in Go or Python for building platform tooling.
• Strong experience with AWS plus either GCP or Azure.
• Expert-level knowledge of Kubernetes (operators, CRDs, admission controllers, networking).
• Experience designing and implementing GitOps workflows (Argo CD, Flux).
• Strong understanding of networking, security, and cloud architecture patterns.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and release engineering.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Nice to Have

• Experience with MLOps workflows and ML platform infrastructure.
• Familiarity with KubeAI or similar ML workload orchestration.
• Experience with Crossplane for cloud-native infrastructure management.
• Experience with Backstage for developer portals.
• Knowledge of policy engines (Kyverno, OPA/Gatekeeper).
• Experience with service meshes (Istio, Linkerd).
• Familiarity with Azure Foundry or similar AI/ML platforms.
• FinOps experience and cloud cost management.
• Experience with chaos engineering and reliability testing.
