The Role
Optiver's Production Engineering teams oversee our live trading environment, operational across over 50 global exchanges and numerous interconnected financial products. Our advanced infrastructure combines distributed systems, high-performance computing, low-latency trading algorithms, and high-throughput dataflows. To adapt to the dynamic markets, we prioritize an in-house approach to developing, analyzing, managing, and enhancing our custom infrastructure. Our data is stored in our own data center, allowing us to evolve our systems daily with rapid feedback loops and development cycles. The challenge lies in balancing innovation with reliability and performance in a fast-paced environment, and that's where you come in.
As a Production Engineer, you will deploy, maintain, monitor, and enhance the reliability, scalability, and performance of our proprietary trading systems. Reliability at Optiver means proactive prevention and quick resolution across our software to ensure optimal performance even in extreme market conditions. A decisive nature, engineering mindset, and a preference for simple solutions are vital for maintaining system reliability.
Your responsibilities will encompass market access, monitoring and compliance, strategy evaluation and management, performance tuning, and trading automation. Located in the heart of our trading floor, you will engage directly with end-users (Traders, Researchers, and fellow Engineers). This is an engineering-focused role, not a support position, where you will establish standards for our production environment, directly impacting our trading capabilities and outcomes. No prior trading or financial experience is necessary; our onboarding program will equip you with the essential knowledge about our business.
