CMM Programmer | Holland, MI

Salary Range: $60,000 - $92,000 based on experience.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, validate, and optimize CMM inspection programs using various software platforms.
  • Interpret engineering blueprints, GD&T, and specifications to formulate precise measurement strategies.
  • Perform CMM calibration, probe qualification, and routine maintenance.
  • Conduct First Article Inspection (FAI) and in-process part inspections.
  • Analyze measurement data, identify discrepancies, and produce detailed quality reports.
  • Troubleshoot and rectify CMM program errors or measurement inaccuracies.
  • Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams on part quality and inspection methods.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in CMM programming software (e.g., PC-DMIS, Calypso, MCOSMOS).
  • Strong ability to read and interpret engineering blueprints, including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Hands-on experience operating CMMs, including part setup, calibration, and probe qualification.
  • Solid understanding of metrology principles and measurement techniques.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot CMM programs and resolve measurement discrepancies.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with CAD software for fixture design or model manipulation.
  • Knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC) principles and software.
  • Familiarity with other metrology equipment (e.g., vision systems, laser scanners).
  • Experience with scripting or data analysis tools for automated reporting or data manipulation.
